近几年 Mac OS X 的 Aqua 界面变化不多，许多苹果用户似乎已经对Aqua审美疲劳，期待着一个革命性的全新界面。而苹果最近的应用程序有一个日益受欢迎的主题：统一的金属和暗玻璃界面。随着每次苹果应用程序的较大更新，看起来也像是在慢慢的向现在的界面做告别。

毫无疑问苹果下一代操作系统 Leopard 将会有全新的GUI（图形用户界面），但这个界面至今没有揭露，许多人期待能在 Macworld 2007 上看到 Leopard 特性的最终宣布，其中也有可能宣布 GUI 的改变。

Apple Gazette 网站传出了据称是来自一个内部人士的传闻：代替 Aqua 的新 GUI 将被称为“Illuminous”。这个传闻没有更多关于 Illuminous 到底是怎么样的可靠信息，但 Appleologist 确信他知道。

Appleologist认为苹果最近在它软件中的界面趋势是暗调、平面化、半透明、光反射、“illuminating（照亮的）”玻璃外观。全屏的应用程序将在Leopard 中出现，来扫除你桌面的混乱并更有效率的管理你的工作空间。打开窗口、文件、应用程序时的效果也应该改善得使操作系统更加生动，类似Widget 渐变时的效果。并且随着 GUI 的改变，也期待苹果替换掉过时的图标[BOTAnswer:怎么样改系统内的图标。]。最终，苹果将走向一个更加光滑、暗调、简洁、生动的 GUI。

苹果在电脑和 GUI 设计领域已经领导好多年了，Vista 的 Aero 界面大概会刺激苹果的设计组拿出一个令人兴奋的界面（只需 Aero 硬件需求的一半）。如果在史蒂夫最终拿出 Leopard 大部分的特性时却看不到 GUI 的改变，这无疑令人失望。

Apple has been the leader in computer and GUI design for years, andVista’s new Aero interface has probably provoked Apple’s design team totopping them off with a mind-blowing interface (that requires half ofAero’s hardware requirements). It would be a true disappointment ifthere was no sort of GUI announcement when Steve finished giving themajor features in Leopard.

The dark translucent appearance Apple has developed over the last threeyears has seemed to have expanded to many of the operating system’score applications. Here are a few of the many traces of the new darkglass appearance rumored to be featured in Leopard:
